1. Course purpose
The purpose of this iPodia course is to establish a new “classrooms-without-borders” paradigm that provides worldwide students a unique “glocal” education opportunity (i.e., global learning on local campus) in order to realize the vision of the iPodia Alliance (www.ipodialliance.org), “learning together for a better world.”
2. Course goal
iPodia classes emphasize “learning from differences,” such that student diversities become a valuable source of peer learning. Based on this pedagogical principle, the goal of this iPodia course is for students to learn how to take advantage of cultural diversities to inspire global innovations.
3. Course objectives
The objective of this iPodia course is for students to study together with their global peers directly to gain unique insights of diverse cultures to identify unique innovation opportunities. In addition to gaining good understandings of important innovation principles and practices, the learning outcomes of this global course also include contextual knowledge of content materials and mutual understanding of each other.

二、延伸閱讀 (請詳列每週學生應配合閱讀之篇章)
This class focuses on nurturing generic innovation ability and creative design thinking rather than teaching specific disciplinary knowledge. The key emphasis is on the cross-cultural aspects of socio-technical subjects with an emphasis on systematic thinking methods for technological innovation in light of rapid globalization. Because cultural and contextual understandings cannot be taught via lectures and learnt from textbook (but rather, it can be best acquired from studies of examples and exercises through teamwork) and due to the broad scope and diverse coverage of this subject, no required textbook is assigned.
